Apple Intelligence rewrites your story in different styles: magical, adventurous, heroic, mysterious, funny… Swipe the carousel to move between them.
Every style has its music
Each style has its own background music, fonts and colors, so the story changes mood as you swipe.
A beautiful illustration for every story
While the story is being written, Image Playground draws its illustration from your words. Pick the one you love: your Home becomes a gallery of illustrated tales.
Private by design
Stories are written by Apple Private Cloud Compute, which never stores them. They stay on your iPhone or iPad, with a backup in your own iCloud.

Apple Intelligence turned on: Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri.

Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I create a story?
UntoldStories shows the reason at the top of the Home screen. Usually Apple Intelligence is turned off, is still getting ready (it downloads its resources after you turn it on), there’s no internet connection, or you’ve reached the daily limit.
Is there a limit?
Apple sets a daily limit for Private Cloud Compute. You can see your usage and when it resets in the app’s Settings (the profile icon at the top of Home). The limit is higher with iCloud+.
In which language are the stories written?
In the language of your device, or the one you pick for UntoldStories in iOS Settings › UntoldStories › Language. The app is in English, Italian, Spanish, French and German.
Where are my stories saved? How do I move them to a new device?
On your device, with an automatic backup in your iCloud (iCloud Drive must be on). On a new iPhone or iPad signed in with the same Apple Account, open UntoldStories and it will offer to restore your stories.
How do I get the other styles?
Every story is written right away in three styles. The others wait in the carousel, so they don’t use up the daily limit: swipe to one and tap “Generate the story”.
What do I share?
The share button sends the text of the style you’re reading, together with the story’s cover.
Can I change a cover?
Yes: open the story and tap the cover button on the right. A new cover applies to every style of the story.
How do I delete a story?
Open it and use the “…” menu, or long-press its card on Home. Deletion is permanent.
Is my voice recorded?
No. It’s transcribed on your device while you speak and the audio is never stored or uploaded. See the privacy policy.
